Chicago and Los Angeles got after it at Blockbuster Stadium.

The Chicago Traders picked up a win at Blockbuster Stadium, downing the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 7-4. On the mound for Chicago was right-hander Larry Cox, who played a pivotal role in the win. Chicago is now 57-58, Los Angeles 49-64.

Chicago used the timely hitting of Walt McCord to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Traders on top, 7-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"I was determined to go the distance," said Cox.
