Habitants Shut Out Terriers, 3-0
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Montreal Habitants and the Boston Terriers, Fred Anthony was the difference-maker. The Montreal right-hander spearheaded the 3-0 win. Steve Locke finished to wrap up his 2nd save. Montreal now sits in third place in the American Baseball League Eastern Division at 61-52.
Jim Compton, who is tied for 5th in the ABL in stolen bases with 23, chipped in for Montreal with a solo home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the center fielder had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
In comments to the Montreal Daily News, Compton insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
