Bulls Pick Up 5-2 Win Against San Diego
|
Kansas City turned a good effort from starter Tom Mitchell into a win over the San Diego Captains at Independence Field. The Bulls won the game, 5-2. The winning pitcher was Mitchell, now 9-10. He tossed 8.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 4. Andy Luce picked up the save, his 14th.
Kansas City took a 4-2 lead on Dave Lester's 2nd triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Lester hit in the bottom of the seventh, left San Diego pitcher Dave Gilson visibly frustrated.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Lester. "And not try to do too much."
The Kansas City winning streak has reached 3 games.
