Hurons Win at Boston, 4-3
|
Toronto pitcher Joe Scott had a large part in his team beating the Boston Terriers, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Scott picked up the win for Toronto, going 5.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1. The Terriers drop to 4-7, as their fitful start to the 1974 campaign continues.
Jorge Luna, who finished 4th in the ABL in hits with 177 last year, had a direct impact on the outcome. Luna contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put Toronto up, 2-1.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Toronto manager Jim Burns. "It's usually not just one thing."
