Extra-Inning Win by Knickerbockers Over Packers
The New York Knickerbockers beat the Cincinnati Packers, 4-3. New York pitcher and Jacksonville, Florida, native Bob Jackson led the way. Mike Scharlau, now 2-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 2 and walking 0. The Knickerbockers' win now puts them at 60-56.

The Knickerbockers relied on catcher Charlie Albright for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the tenth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring double to seal the deal.

"This joint was rocking," said Jackson.
