Dallas starter Bill Malcuit pitched well against the Houston Drillers at Bluff Park. The left-hander led his team to a win, 7-3. Dallas has now won 9 straight.

Dallas took a 5-3 lead on Juan Duran's 12th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Duran hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Houston pitcher Tim Fried visibly frustrated.

"I don't lose sleep over a loss," said Duran. "But I have better dreams after a win."
