Dairymen Suffer 3-1 Home Defeat
The St. Louis Explorers earned a close win over the Milwaukee Dairymen, thanks in part to Bruce Cardenas. The St. Louis right-hander, who is tied for 9th in the NBL in wins with 12, played a key role in the 3-1 victory. The win elevated the Explorers to 68-50.

Catcher Charlie Bartels made an impact for St. Louis, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Dan Valenti in the top of the fifth. For the contest, Bartels was 2 for 4 with a double.

Bartels told a St. Louis Daily News reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
