Extra-Inning Win by Blockbusters Over Burros
|
Well, that's how to end a game in style.
The Los Angeles Blockbusters used the hitting of right fielder Jim Brookins to subdue the Denver Burros, 7-4, in 10 innings. For the game, Brookins was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Losses have been rare for the Burros, who are now 9-3.
The decisive blow was delivered by Chuck Panetta in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a 3-run home run off 31-year old right-handed pitcher Manny Esparza to win the game for Los Angeles. The home crowd went nuts.
"We came in and got the job done. That's what it's all about in this business," said Brookins.
