Bluebirds Bridle Packers, 3-1
Pitcher Dick Conway was rock solid in helping the Brooklyn Bluebirds beat the Cincinnati Packers, 3-1. Conway, the winner, moves to 16-6. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up no walks. Bob Hill notched his 16th save in 20 chances.

Tim Brackbill drove in one run for Brooklyn. The 23-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Rollie Rumler. It was his 14th RBI of the season.

"It's a mindset," said Conway. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."

The 5th-place Bluebirds now have a win-loss record of 59-61.
