Emeralds Deal Seagulls 4-1 Loss
The Seattle Emeralds went home winners at Mission Field, thanks in large part to starter Denny Goldberg. Goldberg stifled the San Francisco Seagulls, enabling Seattle to grab the 4-1 win. Goldberg picked up the win for Seattle, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 9-12. Getting the save was Carroll Reynolds, his 12th.

Roberto Salazar hit a run-scoring triple off Ray Heath in the top of the fifth, which put the Emeralds in front, 1-0. In addition to the triple, Salazar had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.

"I had everything working," said Goldberg.

The Emeralds go to 51-66, putting them 5th in the American Baseball League Western Division.
