Houston laid the wood on Los Angeles at San Vicente Park.

The Houston Drillers defeated the Los Angeles Pobladores by the score of 18-1, with the biggest share of the credit going to center fielder Mickey Hoffman. Hoffman went 3 for 5 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4 for the Drillers on the day. The win elevated the Drillers to 62-58.

Houston right fielder Jackie Frost contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the second. With two down, he hit a splitter to left field for a 2-run single. It was his 124th hit of the season and put the Drillers ahead, 3-0.
