Terriers Trip Habitants, 5-4, in Extra Innings
|
Boston starter Jeff Butler pitched well against the Montreal Habitants at Atlantic Avenue Grounds. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-4. Boston reliever Kim Glanden picked up the win to move to 2-5. Sam Corman suffered the loss. With the win, Boston raised its record to 66-55.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Boston right fielder Gary Williams, facing Sam Corman, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Terriers the 5-4 win.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Boston manager Joe Peters.
