Hurons Absorb 4-1 Loss at Queens Field
|
The New York Empires topped the Toronto Hurons, 4-1, in American Baseball League action at Queens Field. The standout performance belonged to New York pitcher and Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, native Danilo Molina. Chuck Hinck collected his 23rd save. The Empires bumped their record to 62-58 with this win.
New York right fielder Bob Keithline contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a cutter into left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 28th hit of the season and put the Empires ahead, 2-1.
"I felt we were ready to go," said New York manager John Harris. "Our pregame was pretty good."
