Bluebirds Topple Industrials with Late Rally
|
The Brooklyn Bluebirds picked up a win at Allegheny Field, knocking off the Pittsburgh Industrials, 4-1. Starting pitcher Dave Gaultney played a key role in the triumph. Gaultney, now 6-8, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 2, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. At 59-62, the Bluebirds claim 4th place in the National Baseball League Eastern Division.
Ron Eubanks provided a timely hit. The Brooklyn center fielder delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Bluebirds on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
Eubanks told a Brooklyn Bulletin reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
