Emeralds Lose By a Run at Los Angeles
The Los Angeles Pobladores scored a tight, 4-3 win versus the Seattle Emeralds at San Vicente Park. Los Angeles pitcher Jim Arndt held his own in the contest. Arndt, now 2-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 0, walking 0, and allowing 3 runs. Larry Seger earned the save for Los Angeles, his 3rd of the year.

Manuel Castillo, who finished 4th in the ABL in on-base percentage with .378 in 1972, helped out the Los Angeles cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the second baseman drew 1 walk.

"Jim had good arm action, good stuff," said Los Angeles manager Alex Wobbema.
