Los Angeles pitcher Bob Powell did his part in helping his team defeat the Dallas Wranglers, 5-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. Leon Fairley recorded the save, making him 18 for 21. Los Angeles bumps their record to 64-60 with the win.

The Pobladores benefited from an error in the top of the third inning. Los Angeles was leading 1-0 when Ron Roseboro hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put Los Angeles in front, 2-0.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Los Angeles skipper Kurt Peterson.
