Eagles Squelch Bobcats Offense in Shutout Win
|
Ed Cook impressed in the 4-0 Washington win over Cleveland. Cook, who finished 3rd in the NBL in hits with 181 in 1965, went 2-3 with a double and a walk. Washington is now 54-69, Cleveland 61-58.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fourth when Cook, who finished 3rd in the NBL in batting average with .309 in 1965, hit a run-scoring double. It propelled the Eagles into the lead, 1-0.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Cook said.
