4-1 Win for Los Angeles Over Seattle
|
Rick Beasley, who is tied for 2nd in the ABL in quality starts with 20, imposed his will on the Emeralds from the get-go. Relying mainly on his fastball, the right-hander spearheaded the 4-1 Los Angeles triumph. Larry Seger was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 16 of 20 save opportunities. With the win, the Pobladores have a record of 64-57.
Ken Booker had a big run-scoring double for the Pobladores in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Los Angeles leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from Fred Wild, who led the ABL in saves with 30 in 1964, and swatted a double to right. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pobladores ahead, 3-1.
Booker attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
