Seagulls Pull Out Late Win, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the San Francisco Seagulls and the Twin Cities Northmen, 1971 Royal Ricketts Award winner Tim Stambaugh was the difference-maker. The San Francisco right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Dave Maughan earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 4-3. With the win, the Seagulls have a record of 75-49.
The Seagulls got a clutch hit from right fielder Bobby Tapia. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Seagulls.
In postgame comments, Stambaugh said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."
