Generals Lose, 6-1, at Wolverine Field

Detroit Wolverines starter Larry Black found his groove in his team's 6-1 win over the Atlanta Generals. In 7 innings, Black surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. At 9-3, the 1975 Wolverines have been excellent so far.
Troy Stallings had a big 2-run double for the Wolverines in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Detroit leading 3-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Gary Ovitt and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Wolverines ahead, 5-1.
Stallings attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
