Empires Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
No one was more impactful than Al Castro in the 6-3 New York win over Baltimore. Castro, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1967 draft, went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Earning his 4th save for New York was Jack Pratt. The Lords, now 3-9, continue their inauspicious start.
In the bottom of the second, New York left fielder Paul Brower had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Brower stroked a 2-run single to left. It made the score 4-0, New York. For the game, he went 1 for 4, while adding 2 RBI.
"We've got a great group of guys," Brower said, "and we're having fun right now."
