Heath Shuts Out Pittsburgh, 3-0
|
San Diego Captains starter Ray Heath really did a number on the Pittsburgh Industrials, shutting them out, 3-0, on 4 hits in a complete game victory. He issued no walks and had 10 strikeouts.
"We didn't have good at-bats," said Pittsburgh manager Vincent Wicker. "I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting and seeing as our team has a bunch of good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Heath."
So far this year, Heath has compiled a 14-6 record with a 3.16 ERA.
