Skidding Eagles Lose 9th Straight
The Cincinnati Packers locked up a win at Roman Arena, knocking off the Washington Eagles, 5-4. On the mound for Cincinnati was left-hander Kenny Foster. He played a major role in the triumph. Cincinnati reliever Chris Montgomery picked up the win, upping his record to 2-4. Curt Kirkley took the loss. The Eagles, now 43-80, have lost 9 in a row.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Cincinnati catcher Gene Poole, facing Curt Kirkley, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Packers the 5-4 win.

"We've hit a lull," said Washington manager Brandon Tucker.
