Generals Fall Short at Baltimore, 4-3
The Baltimore Lords picked up a win at Seton Hill Stadium, downing the Atlanta Generals, 4-3. On the mound for Baltimore was right-hander Larry Diego, who played a pivotal role in the win. By defeating Atlanta, the 4th-place Lords improved to 61-63.

The decisive blow was delivered by Buddy Wharton in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 24-year old left-handed pitcher Paul Hodges to win the game for Baltimore. The home crowd went nuts.

Diego called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."
