Lefty Trent Leads St. Louis to 4-1 Win
|
The St. Louis Explorers picked up a win at San Diego Sporting Complex, taking down the San Diego Captains, 4-1. Starting pitcher Jimmy Trent was a big reason why. St. Louis improves to 74-53 with the win. They lead their division by 6 games.
Trent, the winning pitcher, raised his record to 13-9. In 8 innings of work, Trent gave up 1 run on 3 hits, while racking up 5 Ks. He kept the Captains punchless, offensively.
"The name on the front of this uniform is all that matters to me," Trent told the St. Louis Chronicle. "And padding the St. Louis win column."
