The St. Louis Explorers picked up a win at Corps of Discovery Stadium, downing the Brooklyn Bluebirds, 6-3. On the mound for St. Louis was right-hander Dick Lott, who played a pivotal role in the win. The 5th-place Explorers now sit at 56-71.
In the bottom of the sixth, St. Louis shortstop Tom Guinn had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Guinn stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 4-2, St. Louis. For the game, he went 2-4 with 2 singles.
"A confident pitcher is a dangerous thing," said St. Louis manager Ray Fleetwood. "That's what Dick is right now."
