Milwaukee Dairymen starter Dan Valenti pitched well against the Cleveland Bobcats at Milwaukee Municipal Stadium, leading his team to a win, 4-1. Milwaukee has now won 3 straight, while the Bobcats have lost 7 in a row.

Tug Hollenbeck had a big bases-clearing double for the Dairymen in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Milwaukee leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a cutter from Scott Dubyak, who finished 5th in the ABL in strikeouts with 174 in 1972, and swatted a double to left. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Dairymen ahead, 4-0.

"From the last whatever, five, six, seven games, there's really only one way to go and that's up," said losing manager Daniel Mays.
