Hurons Beaten By Seagulls, 2-1
|
The Toronto Hurons went down to defeat to Jerry Patrick and his San Francisco teammates. The final score was 2-1, in favor of the Seagulls. In 8 innings, Patrick surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. San Francisco leads the American Baseball League Western Division by 7½ games.
Gail Bishop had a big 2-run home run for the Seagulls in the bottom of the fifth inning. With San Francisco trailing 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from three-time All-Star Ben Immel and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Seagulls on top, 2-1.
"My job is to go out and play as hard as I can for the Seagulls," said Bishop.
