Northmen Stumble, Fall to Lords, 7-1
|
The Twin Cities Northmen had to reckon with Baltimore Lords hurler John Pardoe. Pardoe, who led the ABL in ERA with 1.79 in 1965, overwhelmed the opposition in the 7-1 Lords triumph. The winning pitcher was Pardoe, now 1-2. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4. So far, the 1977 season has been disappointing for Twin Cities, now 5-8.
Mike Caito took Twin Cities hurler Frank D'Amico deep in the bottom of the seventh. His solo home run put the Lords on top, 2-1. In all, Caito had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"We had a nice day," said Baltimore skipper Steve Read.
