Baltimore Upended by Atlanta, 4-2
|
Frank Noorani, who led the ABL in saves with 28 in 1972, propelled his team to victory over the Baltimore Lords. The final score was 4-2, Atlanta. Ron Winder recorded the save, his 4th. The loss makes Baltimore 67-58.
The Generals got a big at-bat from right fielder Steve Walp. For the game, Walp went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 13th home run of the season gave Atlanta a 3-2 lead.
Baltimore manager Steve Read said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
