The New York Empires downed the Dallas Wranglers, 4-3, in 10 innings at Bluff Park. Dave Matuzak led the way, going 3-for-5 for New York. New York reliever Danilo Molina snagged the win, upping his record to 4-3. Vern Gould shouldered the loss. With the victory, the Empires upped their record to 66-60.

Had Matuzak not come through in the top of the tenth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Matuzak hit a run-scoring single. The Empires took the lead, 4-3, and never looked back.

"Tough ballgame, tough loss," said Dallas manager William Albrecht.
