Eagles Earn 2-1 Win Versus Packers
|
Washington Eagles starter Alberto Vinueza hurled his team past the Cincinnati Packers, 2-1. The Eagles raised their record to 57-71.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Washington right fielder Mike Lockhart, facing Dave Young, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Eagles the 2-1 win.
"Runs were at a premium," said Washington manager J P Scott.
