In a tight tilt between the Cincinnati Packers and the Chicago Traders, Fernando Lopez was the deciding factor. The Cincinnati right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Lopez, now 7-13, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. The loss makes Chicago 67-59.
Lee McGee came through with a big-time hit for Cincinnati. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"It feels good to get this one," Lopez told the Cincinnati Bulletin.
