Garcia Helps Denver Cruise to 12-3 Win
The Denver Burros easily defeated the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 12-3, at Gates Crescent Park, with left fielder Steve Garcia a main contributor to the win. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for Denver. Willie Purter, the winning pitcher, improved to 7-2. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 2. The National Baseball League Western Division-leading Burros are 78-49.

With Denver leading 2-0 in the bottom of the third, Garcia hit a fastball from Dario Fontanez for a 3-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Burros ahead, 5-0.
