Magic was in the air and on the mound at Dominion Field, as Bob Powell held the Toronto Hurons spellbound in his 3-0 shutout victory. The Los Angeles Pobladores pitcher went the distance, rang up 4 strikeouts, walked 2, and held the Hurons to 4 hits.
"He just had us in his thrall," Toronto manager Jim Burns said. "We couldn't put anything together against him."
On the year, Powell has compiled a 9-11 mark with a 3.29 ERA.
