St. Louis Pockets 6-3 Win Over Kansas City
|
The St. Louis Explorers beat the Kansas City Bulls, 6-3, at Independence Field. Kevin Campbell starred for St. Louis. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Picking up the win was Bob Trout. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. The right--hander struck out 4 and walked 5. Alex Alonso earned the save for St. Louis, his 2nd of the year.
In the top of the third, Campbell had a 2-run home run for St. Louis. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Explorers on top, 2-0.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said St. Louis manager Ray Fleetwood.
St. Louis goes to 7-6.
