Quakers Hand Bobcats 4-1 Loss
|
Behind an impressive start by Paul Massey, Philadelphia beat Cleveland, 4-1. Massey, now 4-2, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Bill Kaiser was credited with the save, his 26th in 30 tries.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Charley Jennings? The Philadelphia first baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Quakers on top, 2-0. For the game, Jennings had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Jennings said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
Philadelphia is now 70-58. Cleveland is 63-62.
