San Diego pitcher Jack DeWitt did his part in helping his team defeat the Philadelphia Quakers, 3-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. The Captains lead the National Baseball League Western Division by a game.

Waymond Henry had a direct impact on the outcome. Henry contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the fifth inning to put San Diego up, 3-0.
