The Montreal Habitants knocked off the San Francisco Seagulls by the score of 7-6. Jeff Murchison provided some pop, going 4-for-4 with 1 home run. Rich Barron was the winner. He's now 9-9. The loser was 1958 Royal Ricketts Award winner Paul Wiley. The 5th-place Habitants go to 60-70.

The Habitants got a big at-bat from third baseman Ed Hudson. For the game, Hudson went 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 24th home run of the season gave Montreal a 3-0 lead.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Hudson told the Montreal Gazette. "It's as simple as that."
