The Toronto Hurons got a superb performance from pitcher Bill John, but the Los Angeles Pobladores still won the game, 4-3. John threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The winner was George Cooper in relief. His record improves to 2-4. Randy Robins took the loss. Earning his 19th save for Los Angeles was Larry Seger.

Los Angeles used the timely hitting of Joe Roberson to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Pobladores on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We're not exactly playing great right now," said Jim Burns, the Toronto manager.

Toronto has now lost 6 consecutive games.
