Toronto Dealt 7-6 Defeat
|
The San Francisco Seagulls topped the Toronto Hurons, 7-6, with second baseman Tom Kendall playing a big role. Kendall went 1-3 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Seagulls in the win. The Seagulls, now 73-55, have won 4 in a row.
Had Bobby Tapia not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Tapia hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Seagulls.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Seagulls manager Al Borie. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
