Bulls Win at Brooklyn, 5-1
|
The Kansas City Bulls picked up a win at Flatbush Park, knocking off the Brooklyn Bluebirds, 5-1. Starting pitcher Dick Scorza played a key role in the triumph. Scorza, now 11-7, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 1, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. The win elevated the Bulls to 70-57.
Kansas City used the timely hitting of Hal Lahr to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Bulls on top, 5-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Kansas City manager DD Martin praised his team's "energy."
