Bobcats Handle Brooklyn, Snag 3-1 Win
Cleveland pitcher Dennis Lawrence did his part in helping his team defeat the Brooklyn Bluebirds, 3-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Lawrence got the win, improving to 1-6. He gave up 7 hits and walked 3 over 9 innings. He allowed 1 run. The loss makes Brooklyn 65-65.

Cleveland used a clutch at-bat from Steve Garcia to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Bobcats ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"I really like what we did out there today," Garcia said after the game.
