|
Right-hander Jim Arndt mesmerized the Seattle Emeralds while leading the Los Angeles Pobladores to a 2-0 victory. Arndt, the winner, moves to 12-12. He threw 9 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 2 walks. The Emeralds, at 58-72, have lost 4 straight games.
Los Angeles got a knockout punch from Costen Judy. The pinch hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Judy.
