Twin Cities Beats Baltimore, 2-1
|
Twin Cities pitcher Kim Glanden had a large part in his team beating the Baltimore Lords, 2-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winner was Glanden. He threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Larry Diego. Rick Lindstrom notched his 18th save in 30 chances.
The Northmen got a big at-bat from catcher Rick Giardina. For the game, Giardina was 1 for 3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 10th double of the season gave Twin Cities a 2-0 lead.
Giardina said he was "thrilled" the fans had something to get excited about.
The Northmen now have a record of 62-67 with the win over Baltimore.
