Knickerbockers Send Philadelphia Home with 8-2 Loss
|
New York Knickerbockers starter Sid Shafer pitched effectively against the Philadelphia Quakers at Knickerbocker Stadium. The left-hander spearheaded his team's 8-2 win. Shafer, now 11-8, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 1, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. The victory gives New York a record of 72-59.
