Bulls Stymie Brooklyn, Take 3-1 Win
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Kansas City Bulls and Brooklyn Bluebirds.
In a low-scoring tilt between the Kansas City Bulls and the Brooklyn Bluebirds, Bernie Underwood was the difference-maker. The Kansas City right-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. Andy Luce earned his 13th save in 15 chances.
Underwood threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball against the Bluebirds. With the game tied in the top of the sixth inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put Kansas City in front, 2-1.
"Tough loss," said Brooklyn manager John Meeker. "But we'll learn from it."
The win lifted the Kansas City record to 68-65.
