San Francisco got a valiant performance from pitcher Dennis Fulton, but it wasn't enough to beat the Houston Drillers. Houston won the game, 4-2. Fulton threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. The Seagulls drop to 7-7 and continue their inconsistent start to the 1973 season.

Jackie Frost, who finished 3rd in the ABL in triples with 10 last year, came through for Houston with a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth. The right fielder went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 2 runs batted in.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Frost said after the game.
