The Montreal Habitants rode a solid performance from 29-year-old starting pitcher Lawrence Connor to a win, beating the New York Empires, 6-2, at LaSalle Stadium. Connor got the win, improving to 7-9. He gave up 4 hits and walked 4 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. By defeating New York, the 5th-place Habitants improved to 62-72.

The tide might have turned in the top of the fourth, had not Lawrence Connor made a big pitch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and the Empires trailing 3-1, he retired Javier Abarca when the New York shortstop struck out.
