Madaras Delivers Walk-Off Win for Habitants
|
The Montreal Habitants did just enough to sneak past the Chicago Hawks, 3-2, at LaSalle Stadium. Montreal pitcher Fred Anthony, in particular, had a standout performance. With the win, Montreal upped its record to 71-62.
The Habitants procured the win, in large part because of shortstop Bob Madaras. In the bottom of the 13th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Anthony said.
