The Milwaukee Dairymen got a superb performance from pitcher John Gannon, but the Cleveland Bobcats still won the game, 5-3. Gannon threw 7.0 innings allowing 2 runs. Joe Clabaugh notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3 innings. His record now sits at 13-7. Cleveland raised its record to 77-57 with the win.

Don Pelletier came through with a big-time hit for Cleveland. The first baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"I just tried to put the barrel on it," said Pelletier.
