Emeralds Pocket 7-5 Win Against Chicago
|
The Seattle Emeralds defeated the Chicago Hawks, 7-5, in American Baseball League action at Hyde Park Stadium. Dave Robertson pulled his weight. The 9-year veteran went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Ron Woods claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits in 1.1 innings. His record stands at 5-4. Seattle has run its win streak to 4 straight.
Seattle third baseman Fabien Fleury contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a slider to left-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 1st hit of the season and put the Emeralds ahead, 6-3.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Seattle manager Mark Velez.
