Dallas Tacks 6-4 Loss on New York
|
Wet weather did not postpone the Dallas-New York ballgame.
The Dallas Wranglers beat the New York Empires, 6-4. Dallas pitcher and BatabanĂ³, Cuba, native Dario Perez led the way. Perez, now 11-12, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. Frank Dunn was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 6 of 9 save opportunities.
Rick Adams, who finished 5th in the ABL in hits with 181 in 1969, helped out the Dallas cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the center fielder went 1-3 with a walk.
"Main thing is I want the team to win," Perez told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
The 4th-place Wranglers have won 4 in a row.
