Seagulls Win, 3-2, at Toronto
|
San Francisco registered a win at Dominion Field by beating the Toronto Hurons, 3-2. Pitcher Jerry Patrick was one reason why the Seagulls triumphed. In 7 innings, Patrick surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Mike Silver notched his 6th save in 6 chances.
San Francisco won the game in part because of Bobby Tapia. The right fielder ripped a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Seagulls ahead, 2-1. For the game, Tapia had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Toronto manager Jim Burns.
San Francisco improves to 80-55 with the win. They lead their division by 4½ games.
